New to the scene at Legends Haul is our home grocery delivery sector. In usual times Legends Haul has specialized in delivering consciously sourced food ingredients to restaurants and retailers. Pivoting during Covid-19 has been essential for our team and our community. Utilizing our resources during this overwhelming time to get good food into homes across the Lower Mainland seemed the obvious step forward. The Legends team is committed to continue growing this new division and offering chef chosen, consciously sourced ingredients that support local farmers, producers, and restaurants.

Endlessly pushing the boundaries and challenging the status quo is what sets Legends Haul apart. Making better decisions for our local food eco system are at the forefront of how the business is operated. We are in this for the long haul. 


OUR ETHOS: 

We started Legends Haul with a vision to make a positive impact on our local food ecosystem. A company that our kids, the next generation– will be proud of. 

We believe in contributing to a world where supporting your local farmer, producer, and restaurant is a way of life. Where supporting diversity, equality, and environmental sustainability isn’t something we talk about, but something we do. These principles are ingrained in our culture and the foundation with which we grow our business.



OUR PROCUREMENT PHILOSOPHY:

If we can get it locally and in season – we’ll buy that first. If our community needs something we can’t find at home, we’ll look to source from global producers who share our values. We believe that eating plants is good, we should ALL eat more plants. We also believe that if you’re going to eat meat and seafood it should be of the highest quality. It should be from farmers and fishers who take holistic approaches to farming, who live by high values in animal husbandry and at the same time give back to the earth to reduce their carbon footprint. Seafood should always be Ocean Wise and sustainably caught. We also buy from our local waters whenever possible. 

For our producer partners, we look for an ingredient list that is simply good, wholesome food. Ingredients that will fuel our bodies and minds in the best way possible. 

We unite these beliefs to offer not just quality food but food that tastes good. Food that inspires, that makes you feel something. An elevated grocery experience that brings people back to the table where not only can we enjoy a delicious meal together but we can foster important conversations.

CRAIG SHERIDAN

I was born and raised on the North Shore and now reside in Deep Cove. I was also raised in food distribution with our then family business. I have dedicated my life to this business and launching Legends Haul in the fall of 2018 was just a natural stepping stone in my life. The only things that can truly pull me away from work are my family, a day on the golf course, in the mountains biking or skiing, or a beautiful day boating day down the Indian Arm.

Favourite Meal: An experience with good company, prepared with the best ingredients, and by someone who cares - that’s my favorite meal. I always leave with new inspiration whether it be presentation, skills, ingredients used… how those combined effect the flavours it all comes out in the flavours.

Favourite Legends Haul Product: Forever and always will be a bone in rib steak. Well marbled, aged a minimum 50 days and never frozen. PEI Blue for beef, Canada Prime for wagyu.

Favourite Restaurant: All of the restaurants we work with are my favourite.

WHO WE ARE

ALEX PLOUGHMAN

Born and raised in St.John's Newfoundland. I travelled and cooked all over the world for 10 years which included a stage at Noma. My favourite city during that time was [and always be] Melbourne. Before joining Legends Haul I consulted with JOEY Restaurant Group, was a private chef as well as the Chef de Cuisine at Chambar. I now focus on sales over on our wholesale side, curating our products in the grocery sector, and advise on all recipes and new in-house product creations. In the very rare chance I’m not working I will definitely be mountain biking.

Favourite Meal: Mapo tofu

Favourite Legends Haul Product: Our in house pork and leek sausage.

Favorite Restaurant: Bao Bei



JILLIAN SHERIDAN

Raised in the Rocky Mountains once I landed in Vancouver I knew this was where I was supposed to be. Since moving here at 18 I've worked at Aritzia and Cactus Club then segwayed into launching a styling business, a marketing business, and eventually opened Eastwood Cycle with my husband Craig. I now focus on the overall Brand Development at Legends and first and foremost am focused on raising our two future foodies.

Favorite Meal: Anything Mexican

Favourite Legends Haul Product: Everything. I might be classified as a Legends fan girl.

Favourite Restaurant: Anywhere with good music, good company, good wine, and great food.

WHO WE ARE

KIRA MCDOUGAL

North Shore born and raised. My first job was doing food prep at a local restaurant while I was in high school. Not glamourous but I learnt a lot about the food industry [and working with chefs]. Before Legends Haul I was the GM of Eastwood Cycle and now solely focus on special projects here. I love travel, and Vietnam has been a favourite so far. If I’m not working you can find me on a sunny patio.
